Allowing students to casually participate in classes for the enjoyment and social aspect of dance and fitness, whilst catering for more serious dancers that are focused on training and discipline, The Dance Dept is able to provide every student with the training they need. Among our goals is to inspire all students to learn skills and habits that will not only improve their craft but also show commitment and dedication, important valuable assets and life skills for every child’s growth and development. With a committed performance team participating in numerous performances throughout the year, The Dance Dept educates students about the dance industry with our highly trained teachers who have had extensive careers and teaching backgrounds and are passionate about offering their knowledge and expertise to build every child’s confidence and performance skills. The Dance Dept dancers should strive towards the love of dance & performance rather than the rewards that it can bring. Students should always concentrate on performing for their own gain. It is vital that all students have respect for teachers, the studio, and their fellow classmates. Being part of a group builds lifelong team skills and it is important that each team member does not view themselves as more valuable than any other student as we do not support unhealthy competition within our team. Dance students can excel and achieve and be very successful when they believe in themselves. It is our goal to instil this drive, this love of performance in every student. Performing is both fun and challenging. In other words, we have fun and a laugh together but we also work extremely hard and our students are asked to give 100% in every class and always with a positive attitude. Concluding each year, The Dance Dept holds our end-of-year showcase which provides an opportunity for every student to perform on stage and present their talents to the school community, family, friends and our industry.
